Curriculum Vitae

Brief Autobiography

My name is Tsun-Yu Yang. I obtained my Ph.D. degree, under the supervision of Prof. Ming-Chang Yang, from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), Shatin, Hong Kong, in December 2023. From January 2024 to date, I have been a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Information Science (IIS) of Academia Sinica, working under the supervision of Dr. Yuan-Hao Chang.

My research interests focus on various types of system designs, which include graph processing, emerging memory/storage technologies (e.g., Skyrmion racetrack memory, IMR-based HDD, Zoned Namespace SSD (ZNS), non-volatile memory), and graph neural networks. The objective of my research papers often revolves around three themes: cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and scalability. During my Ph.D. studies, I published eight papers in various conferences/journals, including 1 * USENIX OSDI, 2 * USENIX FAST, 1 * USENIX ATC, 1 * ACM ASPLOS, 1 * IEEE/ACM DAC, 1 * IEEE HPCA, and 1 * IEEE TCAD.

In addition to publication, I was awarded the Academia Sinica Postdoctoral Scholar, which is one of the highest honors for all postdoctoral researchers working in Academia Sinica. I also received the Hong Kong Ph.D. Fellowship (HKPFS) Award, the most prestigious honor for Ph.D. students studying in Hong Kong. Additionally, I received the CUHK Vice-Chancellor HKPFS scholarship, the 57th Design Automation Conference (DAC) Young Fellow, and the Best Teaching Assistant Award from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at CUHK.

For academic services, I am currently serving as a reviewer for the IEEE Computer Architecture Letters (CAL) journal, and will serve as the Secretary of Technical Program Co-Chair for the ACM/IEEE Design Automation Conference (DAC) 2025.
I am currently seeking a position as an assistant professor worldwide and I very much welcome all relevant opportunities. Please feel free to contact me for any open positions.
